Thank you for taking a moment to learn more about my professional background and approach to counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon and South Carolina, and I hold a Master's of Science in Applied Psychology from Francis Marion University in South Carolina. My career history has included working in private practice as well as several nonprofits in both individual and group settings.

My approach to counseling is client-centered, which means that you are the expert on you. My goal is to always meet clients where they are, with compassion and acceptance. Together, we will create a personalized plan to address the issues that have led you to seek services. While I draw on a variety of treatment modalities depending on the presenting issue, I often use a strengths-based, attachment-focused, and trauma-focused "lens" to discuss issues, where appropriate. I hope to help you develop both skills and wellness behaviors to continue long after you've completed therapy successfully.

Often, I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing in my work with anxiety, depression, anger, and other issues. I enjoy working with couples and use John Gottman's method primarily. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and am interested in providing trauma services that are rooted in the neurobiology of trauma, such as somatic (body-based) interventions. Future professional goals include EMDR certification and Gottman certification.

Treatment areas that I work in include:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Grief and loss

  • Relationship issues

  • Trauma/PTSD

  • Anger

  • Addiction

  • Parenting/behavior management

The relationship with your counselor is an essential part of successful outcomes in counseling. I encourage you to check out other professionals' bios to help you decide who may be the best fit for you. I look forward to working together
