About the Event
Have you lost track of how many days we have been quarantined? Are you feeling anxious, restless, lonely, bored, hemmed in, cooped up, ready to flee and then you suddenly realize we still have a ways to go and an uncertain future ahead? We at Health Allies Counseling would like to offer our current clients a new on-line support group, an opportunity to connect, exchange strategies and ideas for coping, perhaps deliver a joke, tell a story- hopefully lighten the mood in these dark times and take a much needed break from discussing the news. We are, by nature social, meaning seeking creatures with a hunger to connect and symbolize our experiences. We felt it was important to reach out and help our clients to connect to peers also struggling with isolation, frustration, fear and not knowing what comes next. Perhaps a support group can serve as a bridge to your next 1/1 session. Topics could include sleep hygiene, creating structure in a structure less time, navigating uncertainty, and How I learned to Stop Worrying and Love Myself. If this is of interest to even a few of you out there we will make it happen and get through this together.
This group will be faciliated by Robert Morrissey and Elise Himes, and may have special guest appearances by our other therapists!
Due to state laws, this group is open ONLY to those that are able to be in Oregon when attending the group.
How do I attend?
RSVP to this notice! If you change your mind and need to cancel, please get back on and cancel!! (See the cancellation policy below!) We will send you a link to attend the group at least one hour before the group begins.
All groups happen on Google Meet, which you can use on your computer or phone. You do not need to download anything to get started. We do require that you use video during the session so all group members can be seen, and you will be required to sign a consent to group teletherapy which describes how teletherapy groups work.
What is the cost? Does insurance pay for it?
If you are a current OHP client seeing one of our therapists, the group is charged to your insurance at not cost to you.
If you have private insurance, we suggest you check with your insurance company to check their rules on reimbursement. We are able to send the billing to your insurance but cannot guarantee payment.
If you are on OHP Healthshare/Care Oregon but do NOT see one of our therapists, we are unable to bill OHP for you. (this is OHP in Multnomah, Washington or Clackamas County)
If you are paying out of pocket, the cost is $20, or we will discount the cost to $10 to those that have economic barriers to attending (just ask) . This will be charged to your debit or credit card on file. Cancellation policy enforced.
CANCELLATION POLICY. Please note that we make final decisions about whether to hold the group the day before the group happens so our therapist can plan for it. If you find you are unable to come, you are able to turn your RSVP to a cancellation. If you are on the RSVP as a "yes" 24 hours before the session, you will be charged whether you attend or not !
We have such a huge heart for supporting you and for this work!! We are so looking forward to seeing you all!
Thank you!
