Hi, I’m Sara (she/her), a first-generation, bilingual/bicultural Mexican therapist. I support adults as they navigate life’s many challenges whether that’s healing from trauma, exploring identity, managing anxiety, or carrying the weight of being the first in your family to forge a new path. If you’re processing the past or trying to figure out what’s next, I offer a supportive, grounded space where you don’t have to do it alone. Life can be heavy, and healing isn’t always linear but I truly believe change is possible. My own journey of growth has shown me how powerful it is to want something different for yourself, and that belief is at the heart of my work.
My approach to therapy is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and rooted in social justice. I’m especially passionate about working with BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, immigrant, and first-gen communities because I know how essential it is to feel seen, understood, and valued in the therapy room. My work is collaborative and strength-based, drawing from evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Client-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and trauma-informed care always tailored to what feels authentic and supportive for you.
As a Latina therapist, I bring a deep awareness of how culture, identity, and lived experience shape our mental health. I hold space for conversations around gender, identity, and belonging with care and respect for both our shared cultural roots and your unique perspective. From our very first session, my goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, safe, and supported.
I earned both my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Chicago. My professional background includes working with a diverse population in temporary housing and supporting students and families in school settings, where I’ve learned to meet people with empathy across a wide range of emotional and cultural experiences. Outside of therapy, I love exploring new places especially through food. I believe healing and joy can exist side by side, and I bring that same balance into the work I do with my clients.
