All about Caitlyn
Hi there! My name is Kade (They/Them). I'm ready to provide therapy throughout Oregon via teletherapy. I believe therapy is a powerful tool for self-discovery, empowerment, bravery, advocacy, and healing. Our connection with others creates a space for individual, generational, and collective healing. You deserve kindness, peace, encouragement, and affirmation of who you are and who you hope to become.
Finding a therapist you feel connected to is the first step toward healing. My approach to life and therapy is rooted in dismantling systematic oppression, relational repair, and community connection. I offer a collaborative space to navigate life stressors, find resources, and find self-empowerment. I work with individuals (mostly 18+) focused on providing access to gender affirming care, healing from family and/or religious trauma, finding community, navigating non-traditional relationship styles (poly, ethical non-monogamy, queer, kinky, and single), and life transitions. With compassion and affirmation, I strive to create a space where you feel safe to explore your authentic self and empowered on your unique path to wholeness.
I recognize that our shared and different challenges don’t exist in a vacuum but are shaped by similar oppressive systems. As a therapist, I aim to provide trauma-informed care that acknowledges the impact of these systems, often through discussing generational family trauma, racism, ableism, religious oppression, financial inequity, existential stressors, and navigating LGBTQIA+ identities. My work focuses on helping clients find strength within themselves while also acknowledging the barriers created by these systems. My clinical experience and training have centered on boundaries, attachment, inner child work, and identity exploration. We often explore how systemic issues play a role in shaping your identity and well-being, while identifying the inner power that helps you navigate life both within and outside these systems. My hope is to help you find parts of yourself and ways to feel safe within your community.
A significant part of my practice is providing gender-affirming care. Whether you’re beginning your journey or navigating surgeries and social transitions, I am committed to walking alongside you. My focus is on utilizing existing systems for your care while also finding ways to challenge and work past them. Together, we can work toward goals like managing gender dysphoria, accessing healthcare, and obtaining the gender-affirming surgeries and support you deserve. I earned a Masters in Clinical Mental Health from Columbia International University in 2023 which encouraged me to be a forever learner.
Since graduation, I have attended training focused on gender affirming care, navigating neurodivergence, decolonizing somatics, ethical kink practices, and more.
I utilize a range of therapy modalities focused on both the mind and body, including Relational-Cultural Theory, Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, Polyvagal Theory, Attachment Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Mindfulness. These approaches help you build coping strategies in and out of session, supporting your holistic well-being. Many of these modalities focus on navigating both present experiences and processing past
difficulties. My goal is to collaborate on ways to find a path forward while normalizing parts of us that may feel stuck in the past. I utilize many of these modalities to build a bridge between the science happening in your brain and body with the emotions happening in the present.
Connection is key to healing, and I look forward to being part of your journey toward the life you hope to build. In and outside of my clinical work, my favorite things to discuss are video games, books, media, D&D, ceramics, and similar means of “nerd” culture. I love to help bridge the gap of your favorite interests and utilize them to create meaningful metaphors that suit your life. As a white, queer, trans, and mostly able bodied clinician I recognize how my identity may affect our counseling relationship. I am
dedicated to finding ways to relate to each other regardless of race, gender, body size, and ability.
