All about Sylvia
Hi, I’m Sylvia (she/her), and I’m so glad you’re here. I believe each person carries an innate wisdom within themselves. My goal as a therapist is to help you access the strengths and insight that already exist inside you. At the heart of my work is the understanding that healing happens best in an affirming, compassionate space—one where you feel seen and can reconnect with your inner experience at your own pace.
I specialize in helping individuals create meaningful change in their relationship with trauma, anxiety, and intense emotions. My counseling approach is warm, client-centered, and incorporates gentle humor. Together, we will tailor treatment to align with your unique experiences and goals to ensure therapy remains an empowering process.
Throughout our sessions, I will support you as you become 'un-stuck' from painful thoughts and emotions and work toward renewed balance. Therapy may involve learning mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills to help you navigate challenges with increased confidence and success. We may also practice gradual exposure to feared situations, thoughts, or memories related to traumatic experiences, always within a safe, collaborative environment as you build a sense of mastery and reclaim your story.
I look forward to learning more about your goals for therapy and providing support as you take your next steps in your healing journey.
I obtained my Master’s degree in Applied Clinical Psychology from Pacific University. In my free time, I enjoy hiking with my dog, trying new recipes, reading “just one more chapter,” and playing video or board games.
