Hello! I’m Simeon (he/him), a licensed professional counselor specializing in trauma, anxiety, depression, and relational struggles. I help individuals navigate their emotional struggles, life transitions and relational challenges with compassionate, nuanced, and individualized therapy. I ground my practice in feminist theory and cultural humility. My therapeutic approach strives to provide high quality and affirming care to all clients including neurodivergent, BIPOC, and LGBQTIA2+ and disabled folks. I understand how deeply meaningful and important these identities are to our wellness and human experience, therefore a "one-size fits all" approach rarely honors our unique experiences. With this in mind, I approach each client with an individualized and personalized approach that we work together to create.
I believe that through deeply understanding our patterns, behaviors, dynamics, and history we can unlock the power to make changes in our life. I employ an eclectic approach with a strong reliance on psychodynamic theory and practice. We will work together to understand how past traumas, past relational experiences, and unconscious beliefs shape the relationships that you experience today. An emphasis is placed on understanding dynamics within the counseling relationship as well as other important relationships in your life. From this understanding we will work to make transformations, changes, and growth in your personal life.
Over the years, I’ve supported clients in healing from trauma (complex, sexual, developmental, relational, and religious trauma), depression, anxiety, personality disorders, and other mental health challenges that may impact your ability to lead the life that you desire. By providing a safe space to understand yourself we can use this insight to start to make meaningful changes. Furthermore, from an existential perspective I help my clients make sense of their purpose and meaning to be able to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Many of my clients have reported having meaningful experiences in the therapeutic relationship that have fostered change and a deeper sense of meaning in their lives. With over 5 years of experience and training in treating trauma and other mental health challenges I’ve helped my clients reconnect to their true self, heal from their past experiences, find meaning, and foster their internal sense of creativity and love.
I honor the vulnerability and courage that it takes to ask for help, congratulations on taking the first step! If my approach sounds like something that would interest you, I would love the chance to meet with you and to discuss how we can help you reach your goals.
