Oregon Health Plan (OHP)

Finding therapy that accepts Oregon Health Plan (OHP / Medicaid) can feel overwhelming. We’re here to help make the process clearer and more supportive.

We provide mental health therapy for clients using OHP insurance, helping reduce financial barriers to care while offering thoughtful, relational, and affirming support. If you’re searching for OHP therapy in Oregon, you’re in the right place.

Our team works with many of Oregon’s Coordinated Care Organizations (CCOs) so you can use your benefits to access therapy without unnecessary stress or confusion.

OHP plans we commonly accept

OHP coverage is managed through regional CCOs. While availability can vary by county and plan enrollment, we commonly work with clients who have:

  • Trillium Community Health Plan

  • CareOregon / Health Share of Oregon

  • Jackson Care Connect

  • Yamhill Community Care

  • Columbia Pacific CCO

  • PacificSource Community Solutions

  • Other Oregon Health Plan CCOs

If your OHP card lists a different CCO, please reach out anyway. Coverage rules change, and we’re happy to help you understand your options

What Oregon Health Plan Typically Covers

Most Oregon Health Plan members have coverage for outpatient individual mental health therapy. This is fully paid for by your insurance with no copay.

Clients commonly use OHP for therapy related to:

  • Anxiety and chronic stress

  • Depression and low mood

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Life transitions and grief

  • Identity exploration and personal growth

If you’re unsure what your specific plan covers, we can help you identify the right questions to ask or where to verify your benefits.

Oregon Health Plan FAQ

Does Oregon Health Plan (OHP) cover couples or relationship therapy?

Oregon Health Plan focuses on covering individual mental health therapy. Couples, marriage, or relationship therapy is not covered by OHP, even when relationship concerns are a major source of stress.

If you’re interested in couples therapy, we’re happy to talk with you about self-pay options or help you think through what type of support may feel most helpful right now.

Can I see more than one therapist at the same time using OHP?

OHP generally covers services with one mental health provider at a time. Seeing two therapists concurrently is usually not covered, even if the therapists serve different roles or specialties.

If you’re unsure what kind of support you need, we’re glad to talk it through and help you find an option that aligns with OHP guidelines while still meeting your needs.

Do you see children for therapy?

Yes, we do see children for therapy in some situations. For minors, we require consent from all legal parents or guardians before beginning services.

This means that both parents (or all legal guardians) must agree to therapy and complete required consent paperwork. This helps ensure clarity, collaboration, and a supportive environment for the child.

If you’re unsure what consent is needed in your situation, we’re happy to talk it through and help you understand next steps.

Do I need a referral to use OHP for therapy?

Some OHP plans require a referral, while others do not. Requirements vary by CCO and county. We can help you determine whether a referral is needed and how to get one if required.

Does OHP cover telehealth therapy?

Yes. Oregon Health Plan covers telehealth mental health therapy for many members. Teletherapy allows you to attend sessions remotely (such as by secure video), which can make care more accessible and flexible.
