Hello! My name is Rachel (She/Her) and I am so glad you're here.
As your therapist, we will explore the best version of yourself together, that is already within you. As there are multiple correct ways to practice wellness and you are the expert on your life experience, it is a privilege to get to explore the wellness strategies that most resonate with you, from a trauma-informed lens.
My approach revolves around a collaborative therapeutic alliance between client and counselor through compassionate curiosity and a nurturing mindset to lay the groundwork for healing. I look forward to learning about you and from you in your wellness journey. My goal is to make my appreciation evident from the first session, for your life story and to recognize your strengths, because you have survived 100% of your hardest days so far. Using mindfulness & somatic / relaxation techniques to promote a sense of safety, we can allow distressing memories to resurface and be re-processed with EMDR to enhance your healing.

I have worked in acute psychiatric care for several years, in addition to providing outpatient services throughout this time. I am passionate about helping my clients increase protective factors while decreasing risk factors, while creating meaning from a trauma-informed and motivational interviewing lens. I'm also earning hours towards becoming a Certified Alcohol & Drug Counselor and hold a Licensed Professional Counselor credential from the Oregon Board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my dog; staying active in the gym and playing recreation league sports, trying out new restaurants, and enjoying the Lore of various fantasy universes like D&D or doing a Middle-Earth Marathon.
