All about Tiffany

"One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul. Soul on deck shines like gold in dark times. The light of the soul throws sparks, can send up flares, builds signal fires, causes proper matters to catch fire. To display the lantern of soul in shadowy times like these -- to be fierce and to show mercy toward others; both are acts of immense bravery and greatest necessity. Struggling souls catch light from other souls who are fully lit and willing to show it. If you would help to calm the tumult, this is one of the strongest things you can do."

My name is Tiffany Kettermann (she/her). I am the owner of Health Allies, and a therapist, counselor, advocate, and resource specialist.  I am passionate about helping people to be all that they can be, and removing the barriers that get in the way.

I completed my training at George Fox University, earning a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a post-graduate certificate in Trauma Response Services.  I have additional doctoral level training in clinical assessment, diagnosis and exposure-based anxiety treatments.  I also hold a Masters in Public Administration from Washington State University.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, a registered supervisor, and a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Oregon, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington.

As the Founder of Health Allies, I believe in creating an environment where therapists can build a lifelong career based on the principles of health that we help our clients to practice - promoting balance in our lives, practicing self care, building community and supporting one another, and allowing space for growth.  I believe in a culture of practicing high ethics and doing what is right for ourselves and for every client we come in contact with.  Most importantly, I am passionate about your right to access compassionate and professional mental health care.

Other projects I am involved in include advocating for the needs of Oregonians in the Oregon Health Plan and the counselors that serve them, serving as Director of Oregon Mental Health Providers PAC, and serving as a teacher and a Board Member on the Education Board at LoveFraud.com teaching counselors how to work with clients dealing with narcissistic abuse and domestic violence.  I am a prior board member of COPACT, and a member of the American Counseling Association and The National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.

I am a survivor with lived experience, a person who has experienced disability, a mother, and a grandmother.  I believe in pursuing joy and adventure in all its forms. Counseling is one of my greatest joys, but I also love my family and the outdoors; I throw pottery. I'm trained in sound healing and most recently got certified in creating earth altars (a form of outdoor therapy). You might find me out in town trying a class to learn something new, attending world music events, kayaking on the lake, walking my dogs in the forest, or exploring a new place in nature.

We all have our own unique challenges and heartache.  I am here to help share in your journey. Walking through it together, we can talk about where you've been and where you'd like to be.  I want to help you identify your strengths and goals, show you how to use resources available to you, and help you to bring balance back into your life.
