“I believe everyone can reach an optimum state of well-being as long as we have the right tools and supports."

Amy Schulz is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Oregon, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington, and is a trained EMDR therapist.  The past 5 years of her work have been devoted to serving those with a history of severe and persistent mental health illness, many of whom have co-occurring substance abuse issues, coupled with severe trauma history.  Her form of attachment focused EMDR training has been able to help people repair relationships, desensitize individuals to traumatic events, and prepare them to focus on future-oriented goals.

I employ a comprehensive approach with a strong reliance on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and EMDR therapeutic techniques.  As well as this, I implement a culturally sensitive strength-based approach to the clients that walk through my door.  It is with this combination of therapeutic approaches that I can give each client individualized and tailored sessions to meet their needs.  My hope is that I can be another supportive tool in each client's therapeutic journey.

Amy particularly enjoys using EMDR to help clients improve their lives around issues such as:

  • BIPOC/multicultural and first-generation issues

  • Women's issues

  • Highly sensitive people

  • Anxiety

  • Self Esteem

  • Individual Growth

  • Stress Management

  • Domestic Violence

  • Trauma (Chronic and Acute)
        and PTSD

  • Sexual Abuse

  • LGBTQ+ Issues

  • Culturally appropriate
       mindfulness approaches

  • Nurturing parenting

  • Inter-generational trauma

  • Chronic pain or illness

  • Medical Diagnoses

  • Loss or Grief
