Hi, my name is Ash (She/Her). I believe that therapy is a communal and equal relationship where the client’s experiences, perspectives, and intuitive knowledge can be explored. Through understanding the circumstances that affect and act upon clients, in relation to themselves, and others, client’s are able to find unique pathways forward on their inner journey. I am highly relational in my approach and place great importance on our therapeutic relationship and the work that we do together.
Through a strengths based approach, I feel that the clients' resilience and abilities can be reflected upon. Although our stories and experiences are never separate from our past, systems of origin, or the current experiences of hardship and oppression, it is the power and importance within each of us that can shift our relationship with ourselves and our relationships with others.
As a bi-racial Mexican American Indigenous Queer woman I believe the way we experience culture, race, sexuality and gender are unique and defies a singular interpretation. Our most sacred identities possess intricate components that are complex and non-static, shifting and interacting within ourselves and the world around us. I have a strong commitment to upholding my client’s unique story through Relational-Cultural Theory and Narrative Theory.

Nature and ancestry are often at the heart of my artwork, as they have been a powerful and constant guiding force within my life. I feel that in nature, the intricate variation of all things exists and gathers into oneness.

I am a first-generation college student and a graduate of Portland State University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling master’s program. I am a self taught multidisciplinary artist and poet with a background as a labor and postpartum doula.
