All about Briana

Hi! I’m Briana  (she/her). I provide therapy in our offices in SE Portland and online throughout Oregon.  I believe that each person’s story is shaped by their relationships, environments, and lived experiences, and I approach therapy with deep respect for that complexity. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed and culturally responsive lens, with an understanding of how systemic, relational, and intergenerational factors, including experiences within oppressive systems, can impact well-being. I strive to create a space where you feel safe, supported, and truly seen and heard.

I view therapy as a collaborative and meaningful process built on trust, authenticity, and connection. I aim to meet you with curiosity and compassion as we explore your experiences, build insight, and work toward change that feels aligned with your values. I draw from a range of approaches depending on your needs, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, attachment therapy, experiential work, somatic practices, and mindfulness. Together, we can work to understand patterns that may no longer serve you and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others.

I have experience working with both children and adults in community mental health settings and feel especially passionate about supporting individuals and family systems from marginalized and underserved communities. I am committed to providing affirming care for BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ individuals, as well as those navigating complex and intersecting identities. My goal is to create a space where you can show up fully as yourself while navigating the broader systems and contexts that shape your life.

As a second-generation Mexican-American, cisgender, able-bodied woman, I recognize how my own lived experiences influence the way I show up in this work. I value authenticity and strive to bring my full self into the therapy space, while also inviting you to do the same. Outside of my work, I enjoy connecting with nature, spending quality time with loved ones, and savoring slow moments in coffee shops. I remain committed to ongoing learning and growth so I can continue to provide thoughtful and responsive care.

I look forward to working with you!
