We welcome clients in person in our offices in SE Portland and throughout Oregon via telehealth, including Portland, Eugene, Salem, Bend, and rural communities statewide.

1

What is mindfulness therapy?

Mindfulness therapy is a therapeutic approach that helps you intentionally bring awareness to the present moment — with curiosity, compassion, and without judgment.

Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts or emotions, mindfulness helps you:

  • Notice thoughts without getting stuck in them

  • Feel emotions without becoming overwhelmed

  • Reconnect with your body and breath

  • Respond intentionally instead of reacting automatically

  • Build emotional balance and self-compassion

Mindfulness is not about “clearing your mind.” It’s about learning how to be with your experience in a way that reduces suffering and increases choice.

What symptoms is mindfulness good for?

Mindfulness-based therapy can be especially helpful for people experiencing:

  • Anxiety or chronic worry

  • Depression or low mood

  • Stress or burnout

  • Trauma-related symptoms

  • Emotional overwhelm

  • Rumination or overthinking

  • Difficulty relaxing or sleeping

  • Perfectionism or self-criticism

  • Feeling disconnected from the body

  • Difficulty regulating emotions

Mindfulness works gently and gradually, helping your nervous system settle while building resilience over time.
