All about Hollie
Hi, I’m Hollie Crandell (she/her)! I am an individual therapist that works with adults and adolescents (13
and up). I also facilitate DBT skills groups and other group modalities. I typically work with trauma,
anxiety, depression, ADHD, personality disorders, and with LGBTQIA+ individuals. My background in
developmental psychology informs my experience working with attachment-related struggles and trauma.
I believe therapy should be a collaborative process. My role as a therapist is to create a safe, non-
judgmental space for you to show up as your true self, exactly as you are. You are the expert on you and I
am here to walk along side you on your journey. My goal is to provide support and skills related to
changing behaviors and beliefs that no longer serve you, as well as elevate your already present insight to
create and explore a life worth living.
I first worked children who have autism spectrum disorder before my undergraduate time at UC Davis
where I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Developmental Psychology. Throughout my time at UC
Davis, I worked at a research lab that focused on understanding how the life experiences and social
support of children and adolescents shape their reactions to stress and their health. During graduate school
at Pacific University, I spent my clinical practicum working with victims and perpetrators of violence and
trauma. During this practicum, I also co-facilitated a sex offender pre-group where we utilized University
of Cincinnati’s sexual offender cognitive-behavioral intervention (SO-CBI). My master’s thesis was on
the practitioner training and implementation of trauma-informed care in Oregon. I employ an eclectic
approach with a strong reliance on dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) and cognitive behavioral therapy
(CBT), which I practice through a trauma-informed lens. I may also pull from other evidence-based
practices when appropriate (e.g., mindfulness-based stress reduction, narrative therapy, motivational
interviewing, etc.).
I am a CIS-woman who is queer, neurodivergent, and White. I have experience working with those who
may be struggling or in need of support with their sexual and/or gender identity. I am a sex and body
positive person and strive to incorporate that in my work as a therapist.
When I am not working, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and chosen family; I am very
extraverted and love to chat. I also enjoy playing pool and board games, cooking, hiking, rock climbing,
mindfulness meditation, and tending to my plants and garden.
